Comfort & Joy​
Welcome Singers, we are so glad you are interested in joining us! We are gathering a chorus for Comfort & Joy, our holiday concert, set to perform on December 13 and 14, 2024.

Add your voice to our joyful noise! The Gold Coast Concert Chorus is coming together this holiday season to present Comfort & Joy, a concert focused on pieces that bring comfort in our world of conflict and joy in a time of hardship for many. We’re inviting new and returning singers to begin rehearsals this September, and share their gift of song in a beautiful program that will fill all who listen with light.

The Gold Coast Concert Chorus is a non-audition community chorus. We welcome any new participants to our upcoming rehearsals and performances!
Rehearsals are every Monday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Church of the Foothills in Ventura. Our first rehearsal is September 9, 2024.
Our health and safety protocols. Please keep in mind that these plans are based on the current situation; we will continue to review and monitor the situation and make changes as necessary.

Testing or masking is no longer required for weekly Monday rehearsals.

If you do not feel well, please stay home. If you are unsure if you are sick (i.e. allergies, etc.) please wear a mask.

If you have been exposed to COVID in the last week, you must have a negative test and a mask to attend rehearsal.

If you are recovering from COVID, you may return to rehearsal 10 days after your first positive test or when you test negative.

For Tech Week, testing will be required each day due to proximity on the risers.

Registration is open through September 23, 2024.
Cost for participation is $125 ($50 for music and $75 singer fee).
If you would like to register for the full season ($210 singer fee and $50 for music), please select that choice to join the choir for the year and you will still have to pay the music costs for 2 following concerts.

We believe that everyone should have access to choral music and that cost should never be a barrier to participation. Financial Scholarships are available, click here to fill out the Financial Aid Request Form.
Some words from our Director
Hello singers,
The big news this season is that we really are, at long last, going back to a three concert season. Our classical concert is back!
I love the classical concert. It stretches us as individuals and as a choir, and makes us all better musicians and collaborators. Our
three-concert format, which has served GCCC so well for 36 years, is part of what makes our identity. I am thrilled to have our classical concert back in the mix.
Our first concert will be a holiday celebration called Comfort & Joy, and there will be a lot of both. I have found gorgeous carol arrangements, fun Christmas songs, and pieces that are truly joyful to sing and to hear. It will be just what we need in December, and will be a lovely bunch of music to live with this fall.
We will go back to starting practice early in January so that we can perform our rousing Bernstein & Beyond concert in March. We will reprise a lot of Best of All Possible Bernstein which we did NOT get to perform in 2020, and we will repackage it as Bernstein & Beyond. West Side Story! Candide! Wonderful Town! Leonard Bernstein gifted us with so much wonderful music.
Our June pops concert is called Road Trip & Mix Tapes. This one should be a lot of fun, and will include lots of songs about…I think just about anything we like! I have found lots of cool songs about traveling, and about places in our country which would be fun to visit, but there can be much more. What would you like to hear on your mixtape? Drop me a line!
We, the musicians of Gold Coast, are our best advertisement. If you are a returning singer, bring a friend! The Open House/First Rehearsal will be a perfect way for your friend to try out our group. If you are new to our choir, please join us, meet some folks, and get a chance to see how you like it. Remember, there are no auditions for Gold Coast. We are a true community choir that does great singing, and has a lot of fun doing it! So until September 9, all my best. LIZ
